1 Corinthians 2:9–10 (KJV)But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of revelation. He gives believers access to truths that cannot be discovered merely through human reasoning, natural observation or intellectual ability. What the eye cannot see, the ear cannot hear and the natural mind cannot understand, the Holy Spirit can reveal.
God has prepared wonderful things for those who love Him, but we need the Holy Spirit to recognise, understand and walk in them. There are divine opportunities, solutions, strategies and directions that may remain hidden until the Spirit opens our understanding. He knows the mind of God and searches even the deep things of God.
When you face a situation that appears confusing, do not depend only on what you can see. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal what you need to know. He can expose the source of a problem, show you the right decision, reveal the appropriate time to act and give you wisdom beyond your experience.
The Holy Spirit does not reveal hidden things to make us proud or fearful. He reveals them so that we can fulfil God’s purpose, avoid danger, solve problems and become a blessing to others. However, revelation must always agree with the written Word of God. The Holy Spirit will never lead you contrary to Scripture.
Develop sensitivity to Him through prayer, worship, meditation on God’s Word and prompt obedience. Do not ignore the gentle impressions He places in your heart. As you fellowship with Him consistently, your spiritual understanding will become sharper.
You do not have to walk through life in darkness. The Holy Spirit lives in you. Trust Him to illuminate your path and reveal everything you need to know at the appointed time.
Prayer
Holy Spirit, open my spiritual eyes and reveal the deep things of God to me. Give me divine understanding concerning every situation I face. Expose every hidden danger, unveil every divine opportunity and guide me into the perfect will of God. Help me to recognise Your voice and obey Your instructions promptly, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Confession of Faith
The Holy Spirit lives in me and reveals the deep things of God to me. I do not walk in darkness, confusion or uncertainty. My spiritual eyes are open, my understanding is enlightened, and I receive divine wisdom, direction and insight. I know what to do, when to do it and how to do it, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
