The Peaceful Wisdom from Above
James 3:17 (KJV)But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
God’s wisdom does not produce confusion, hostility or disorder. It is pure, peaceful, gentle and full of mercy. It enables you to uphold the truth without becoming harsh, insulting or quarrelsome.
Many conflicts worsen because people are more concerned about proving themselves right than preserving relationships. Wisdom teaches you to listen before responding, understand before judging and pray before acting. Winning an argument is not always the same as winning a person.
A wise believer is approachable, teachable and willing to make corrections. Before responding to pressure or provocation today, pause and allow the Holy Spirit to govern your thoughts, words and reactions. As you walk in the wisdom from above, your life will bring peace, healing and godly influence to others.
Prayer
Father, let my thoughts, words and actions reflect the purity and peace of heaven. Deliver me from pride, strife and harsh reactions. Make me gentle, merciful, teachable and sincere. I receive grace to walk in the peaceful wisdom from above, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
